• Technical skills – the abilities and knowledge needed to perform specific tasks. They are practical, and often relate to mechanical, information technology, mathematical, or scientific tasks.

• Mathematical skills – the ability to use mathematics in everyday life. Both skills are needed in order to function fully in modern life.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR BSIT GRADUATES

• Applications Developer – work closely with computer analysts and engineers in using languages such as Java, C++ or ORACLE, C , .Net to develop the necessary specifications for software.

• Database Administrator – you’ll be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database.

• Technical Support Specialist – provide technical support, advice, and assistance to consumers and businesses with technical, hardware, and software system problems.

•  Test Engineer – is required to fully test the product or system to ensure it functions properly and meets the business needs.

• Web Administrator/ Web Master – Maintains Web system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.

• Web Developer – The role is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function and according to a client’s specifications.

• Network Administrator – Fully supporting, configuring, maintaining and upgrading corporate customer’s networks and in house servers.

• Information Technology instructor – IT and software trainers teach desktop applications and software to a range of clients, from business people to the unemployed.

• Information Security Administrator – Security administrators spend much of their time configuring and operating access control.

• Network Engineer – you’ll have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining computer networks within an organization or between organizations.

• Systems Analyst – specialize in helping organizations choose a specific type of hardware and software system.

 


“ASSOCIATE IN COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY (ACT)”

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

A two-year non-degree program leading to a diploma in Associate in Computer Technology. The course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to use the state-of-the-art computer systems to solve business and information systems related problems.

 

 


 

“BACHELOR OF SCIENCE  IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (BSIT)”

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

A four year course which will prepare you for a careers working with computers and information where you’ll apply technical skills to solve problems, support innovation and improve communication between people. This degree will build your core knowledge about software and hardware. This degree is awarded for completing a program of study in the field of software development, software testing, software engineering, web design databases, programming, computer networking and computer systems.
